THE FOLLOWING IS NOT WRITTEN BY ME, but as a person who plays PC games I can really feel for Gabe from Penny Arcade...

"I was very excited about Gyromancer and I decided to grab it on the PC since I saw it right there in Steam when I went to play Torchlight. I remember now why I quit playing games on the PC.

I installed the game game but when I tried to launch it would fail. I got some ambiguous error report about how the program encountered an error. I tried deleting and re installing the game a few times to see if that did anything. When that didn't work I went and checked all my updates and drivers. My machine was up to date so I tried re-starting a few times. Still no luck, so I hit a couple forums and found a thread full of people with the same problem. One of the suggested solutions involved altering the .exe file and forcing it to run at 640x480 via the compatibility sub menu. When I tried to do this, Windows 7 launched some sort of compatibility wizard. This thing started asking me questions about my problem and none of them really matched. I ran through it a couple times but no matter how I answered the questions I couldn't get the game to launch.

I went back to the forum and dug a little deeper in the thread. Towards the end I found a post that suggested changing your desktop resolution to 800x600, loading the game and switching the in game video mode to 16:9. This got me into the game but after I changed the video mode in game my mouse didn't work. I was able to use the arrow keys to save the settings and back out. I re-launched the game and now it ran in a little window.

I moved a couple of gems around and then quit."

Can't sleep. Been to bed twice already, spent a total of about an hour and a half trying to sleep. I've given up at this point. Oh well.

Might be switching jobs within a month or two. If I don't I'm going to wind up saying or doing something that will get me fired. :D At the very least I'm thinking about moving to a different location with the same company.

Everything hurts. This line of work really takes a toll on your body. My leg hurts, my arm hurts, my neck hurts. My hands have permanent black stains that will probably stick around for weeks even after I get out of this field, if I do. At any given time there are always around a dozen cuts on my hands and wrists. On top of the usual, I'm sick with something (although mild), and I have an ear infection. Gay.

I'm thinking 24-hour McDonalds.

Subject:	LAS VEGAS RESTAURANT RECOMMENDATION OF THE MOMENT.

China Mama 3420 S. Jones

I'd been looking for a good dumpling place for a while, and had been unsuccessful in googling and asking around. So for a while I'd been reading all the little restaurant writeups in the Las Vegas Weekly. And several months ago I found a glowing review of this place. I cut it out and stuck it in my wallet, so I'd remember when I got the chance to try it.

Was errand day with the girlperson today, and so for lunch we decided to go find China Mama and give them a try. BEST.IDEA.EVER. The foods we tried were a little spicer than I've been able to handle lately, but being recently reuped on medication it worked out ok. I startled one tonsil with a too hot, temperature-wise, bit of food but other than that the spicy didn't irritate my throat. I did drink a lot of water right after and gargled, so that probably did the trick. Which was yay, I've been missing spicy foods like crazy lately.

The menu was full of fabulous engrish, the staff barely spoke English, so we ended up pointing for most of the ordering.

What We Got.

Tentale Rape Soup. Some sort of spicy chili broth soup with cilantro and transparent jelloy tentacle noodles.

Really fabulous orange chicken, with skin still on and little blackened bits of orange peel. Possibly not quite as healthy as the Panda Express version, but so much tastier.

The beef wrap thingy that was suggested in the Weekly blurb as the Must Order menu item. They didn't lie, this was amazing. It was meat, veggies, cilantro and I think more rice noodles. Tube of heaven.

THE DUMPLINGS. We got a pork variety, and they were fabulous like everything else. Like more substantial and tastier potstickers.

So cute, couldn't resist this picture. Just pretend I'm doing this for scale. Or draw eyes on it and pretend it's a tasty dumpling creature.

They automatically bring you hot tea as soon as you sit down, and there's the little tea cups waiting on the table.

The place was pretty, cozy, comfortable seats, very clean, the bathrooms were very clean. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive despite the poor grasp of English. Overall 5/5 stars. They were so helpful that the language barrier was more quaint than a hinderance.

If you like Chinese food, especially if you like dumplings, YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE. The menu is extensive, and there was even a whole section of desert slush type drinks, which we did not try this time but they looked intriguing.

A++++ Will go again, am telling all my friends. China Mama, Fabulousity.

And of course, plenty of leftovers, this is my plate of leftovers I just had a bit ago.

And I've still got a thing of the tentacle rape soup in the fridge.

I have no clue what to write. Im listening to Bellas Lullaby from Twilight. Its a very cool song. Very mellow and fits my mood perfectly. I am not in the best of moods but most people who know me would say thats nothing new. Which is really isnt. Im just tired and Im tired of being tired. Theres nothing to do though in this house but watch tv or be on the computer and I get so bored with things online after a while. *sighs* Im worried about going to GA. Yeah it will be good to see my family but all the drama thats going on is going to make it difficult. I wish my grandmother had never passed away then things would still be normal. You know I still forget sometimes that shes gone and I will think to call her then I have to remember that she wont ever answer my phone calls again and its like this wall breaking inside me and I cant handle it. I want her back so much but I know thats never gonna happen and that kills me inside. You know this will be the first christmas without and thats gonna be hard enough but lets just make it worse with half the family not talking to the other half. *Sighs* Why cant they mature and realize what they are doing to the rest of us. All I wanna do right now is cut and thats why this entry wont be to long cause I need to take my ass to bed before I do something stupid. I would love to do something stupid but I know I cant. I wanna do something to myself before I go back to GA like get a tattoo or a piercing. Something new and different. Its been a while since Ive had anything done and maybe the pain will help me as well. *sighs* I dont know. I need to start walking again and maybe that will give me something to do. The temp needs to warm up a bit though first. 28 days till I go to GA. Blah. Kevin showed me how to download ringtones to my phone which is majorly cool. I downloaded Grandma got run over by a reindeer just for Kevin. lol. I put down for Jeff Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson. Im worried because I am sinking really low in my depression and its not a good thing. Well I am gonna head to bed. Night.

I wonder if I have anything to say today. Dont know how long I will write just felt like posting something in my journal as I talk to Sc. I gave her the link to my journal yesterday. Just as long as Jeff doesnt get the link things will be fine. Jeff would be so pissed if he read this. Oh well. Its my journal and my life and he has no say in them anymore. *rolls my eyes and sighs* So what have I done today. Not much. I got up around noon and hung out with mom for a bit and then crashed on her bed till 4 in the afternoon. I totally blew off Jeff today but I just wasnt in the mood to actually get up enough to talk to him. I finally answered my phone the second time he called me and told him I was sleeping. He left me alone after that and I continued to just doze in and out. I was also watching the neighbors kids when they got home from school. Basically just if they needed something they could come over and ask me. Debbie still isnt home so Kevin is over there now. I had to drive to PA tonight to get cigg stuff. That was annoying. I hate driving at night. And Kevin has been getting on my nerves today. Actually everyone has been getting on my nerves today. Im so tired of being alone. Im tired of watching Mom and Wolf be together and knowing that I have no one here to kiss anymore or to just curl up on the couch together and watch tv. I'll write more later.

Well I cut tonight. It felt good but I am so tired of people telling me what I can and can not do when I cut. It takes the pleasure out of it because then I cant just let go I have to keep some control. And that takes the release out if it which is why I crave to cut so much. Im cutting more then I was before. *sighs* Whatever. I bought my ticket today to go to Ga so its offical. Im going back to Ga for christmas. Yay. Whatever. I really dont wanna write so im going to bed. Blah. Have to be in bed in 30 mins anyways. WHATEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally completed "The Pitt" and I found a majority of the Pittsburgh references to be pretty amusing.

ONLY READ THE FOLLOWING IF YOU WANT ALL THE LITTLE EASTER EGGS SPOILED FOR YOU!!!!

Apocalyptic Skyline/PPG Building, Steel Tower, Mellon Arena, etc. was pretty accurate. The PPG AKA Glass Castle is a really famous piece of architecture, it's highlighted in a numerous amount of movies. Very cool.

The whole "steeler" comment, while indeed is a reference to steel workers is most probably also a direct nod to our "We love to win the Superbowl" football team.

When they're talking about one of the Auto Axes killing Trogs and Ghouls from here to Monroeville is a nod to the Dawn of the Dead movie filmed in Monroeville Mall.

The Tribal Power Armor being Black & Gold as well as the robots in the factory being B&G, that's our city's Sports team colors.

The "Cathedral of Learning" is turned into "Haven" a lead base of operations for the city's leader. Cool.

Lulu gives you noodles for being a good pet. Lulu's Noodles is a popular Pittsburgh restaurant.

O-Dog is a reference to the "Original Hot Dog Shop" which is the nastiest fucking place to eat in the world ([i]it's just a dive[/i]) but it's nicknamed "The O".

Reddup's name is a reference to a clean up initiative from 2006 initiated by the Mayor of Pittsburgh.

Phantom's name is probably a reference to Phantom of the Attic comics and/or Steel Phantom, a local rollercoaster.
